Scrapbooks, Clippings and Reviews consists of scrapbooks, clippings and newspapers from 1909-1955. The scrapbooks and folios mainly contain newspaper articles and reviews written by Olin Downes from 1909-1955 (with gaps) for the New York Times pertaining to musical performers and performances at Carnegie Hall, the New York Metropolitan Opera, and the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. Other scrapbooks and folios include newspaper clippings of the writings of music critics Virgil Thompson (1940-1954, with gaps) and Ernest Newman (1935-1954).
